The reference collection mollusk of the group of Bioarchaeology and IIIPC, is the culmination of the process of selection of a rich range of hundreds of specimens collected in the european atlantic, specifically, in Spain, France and England. Collections comparisons are a fundamental tool in the process of identifying anatomical and taxonomic species. The great morphological variability that intraspecific present some of them, requires the use of these collections for contrast, compare and confirm certain diagnostic features of the species.
In the reference collection mollusk have been processed and identified approximately 2000 copies at a taxonomic level, distinguishing more than 100 species.
