
Full Professor of Radiology and Physical Medicine
He has held a Ph.D. in Physical Sciences since 2002 and currently serves as Technical Director of the UC Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory (LARUC).
For over 20 years, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including both core subjects and topics closely related to his research interests.
Throughout his career, his research has focused on naturally occurring radioactivity, especially radon gas.
He has authored 82 scientific papers, including 41 published in international impact-factor journals.
He has acted as a peer reviewer for 18 scientific journals, including the most prominent journals in his research area.
Active participation in international research conferences has been a constant throughout his career, as reflected in 150 contributions.
He has supervised 6 doctoral theses, 5 Bachelor’s theses, and 6 Master’s theses.
He has participated in 60 research projects and contracts, serving as Principal Investigator in 15 of them.
He served as Director of the European Union IRART project in Romania between 2010 and 2013.
He is currently the principal investigator of the EU-funded project “SMART_RAD_EN: Smart Systems for Public Safety through Control and Mitigation of Residential Radon, linked to Energy Efficiency Optimization of Buildings in Major Romanian Urban Agglomerations.
He serves as a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering, Babeș-Bolyai University (Romania).
