Isidro Carrascal Vaquero

Full Professor in Science and Engineering for the Land and Materials

PhD in Industrial Engineering (University of Cantabria, 2006). Degree in Industrial Engineering (Mechanics and Materials) (University of Cantabria, 1995) and Technical Engineering in Mechanics (University of León, 1992), where he received the Outstanding Final Degree Award. He has held a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cantabria since 2006.He has published more than 100 articles, including over 30 papers in indexed journals.
He has participated in more than 40 research projects, including European projects, national competitive calls, and regional or industry-funded projects.
Author of more than 100 scientific publications, including over 30 papers in indexed journals. Participation in more than 40 research projects, including European, national competitive calls, and regional or industry-funded projects.
His main research areas include biomaterials, mechanical behaviour, reinforced polymers, recycled concrete, and railway superstructure. He has served as Technical Director of LADICIM since 2016 (a laboratory accredited by ENAC). He is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Land and Materials Science and Engineering.
He has taught 21 courses across 8 different degree programmes.
He has supervised more than 40 Bachelor’s and Master’s theses. He is a member of AENOR Technical Certification Committee CTC033 and Technical Standardization Committee CTC025.
