
Associate Professor of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering.
He earned his Ph.D. in 1997 and is currently a University Associate Professor in the field of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering.He has extensive experience in compositional and microstructural characterization of materials in general, and of archaeologically relevant materials in particular. He is the author of more than twenty indexed international publications in JCR journals, 14 of which are Q1 (H-index = 10). He has been awarded three recognized research periods (sexenios de investigación) and holds three patents. He teaches at the Higher Technical School of Industrial and Telecommunication Engineering, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the Higher Polytechnic School of Mining and Energy Engineering at the University of Cantabria, where he has also served as Vice-Dean and Academic Coordinator of the Master’s Degree in Mining Engineering. He is currently Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Architectural, Civil and Urban Heritage and the Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings at the University of Cantabria.
